Job summary

BHP Chile seeks a Manager Ops Readiness to lead the Selection, Definition and Execution phases of Major Capital Projects. You will coordinate across functions to ensure delivery within scope, time, quality and budget, guiding governance and stakeholder expectations.

The role demands extensive experience in large capital projects, strong leadership in operational and project settings, and fluency in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Electrical), or other relevant Operational experience.
• 10+ years’ experience in managing medium to large capital projects (US$20M to US$250M).
• Experience across all major capital project phases (identification, selection, definition and execution).
• Leadership experience within Operational and Project settings across Minerals or Energy.
• Mine operations experience.
• EPCM as Project Execution Methodology.
• Schedule driven project management mindset.
• Safety mindset (Team working, negotiation skills).
• Fluency required in English and Spanish (Written and Spoken).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates understanding of project value drivers and guides decisions accordingly.
• Manages workload peaks and team composition across projects.
• Constructively challenges, tests and scrutinises assumptions relevant to the project.
• Demonstrates understanding of Project Execution Strategy and Planning best practice.
• Uses the Study Work Plan to manage information collection from functions.
• Coordinates functions (PC, HR, Engineering, HSS, Finance) for effective integration.
• Integrates scope of work of each Function into the Project Scope, avoiding gaps or overlaps.
• Establishes agreements with key Operations/Functions/Decision makers for involvement/sponsorship.
• Manages contracts with vendors and monitors performance and contractual terms.
• Oversees governance (IPR) and manages stakeholder expectations effectively.
