Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Materials Manager to oversee field materials at operating locations and temporary sites in Iquique, Chile. You will develop and implement the overall project materials management plan, including staffing, stock levels, procedures, and compliance with project procurement standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 5–8 years of relevant experience, with strong supervisory and organizational skills. Relocation is authorized for national camp assignments.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.
• Experience with field materials management in construction or mining projects is preferred.
• Strong supervisory and organizational skills required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and direct the implementation of the project materials management plan.
• Establish staffing requirements and assist in staffing locations and sites.
• Monitor performance against project procurement procedures and site instructions.
• Create site-specific metrics for materials management performance (labor hours, cycle times).
• Oversee disposal of surplus materials and equipment.
• Prepare initial organization charts for materials management activities for approval.
