Job summary

Bechtel Corporation in Santiago, Chile, seeks a Project Accountant to manage assigned ledger accounts, ensure monthly journal entries and reconciliations are completed, and coordinate with Billing and Accounts Payable to record revenue and costs.

You will prepare financial analyses, reports on project costs, and support month/end close including CGL adjustments, applying Bechtel policies and procedures while working with the project team and local client representatives.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2–5 years of relevant experience, or 6–9 years of relevant work experience.
• Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are required.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Accounting Manager in establishing and operating project financial controls per Bechtel policies and client requirements.
• Manage general ledger, subsidiary ledgers, and detailed job cost and commitment ledgers.
• Support Chilean statutory reporting requirements for the project.
• Monitor employee receivables related to the project and coordinate with project management to keep accounts current.
• Provide financial analyses, cost estimates, forecasts, and ad-hoc management reporting for project and GBU management.
• Coordinate with the Project Accounting Manager to respond to client inquiries and audits on financial matters.
