Zusammenfassung

Excelsus Structural Solutions (Swiss) AG is seeking a Laboratory & Synchrotron Technician (m/f/d) to support laboratory and synchrotron activities. The role focuses on sample preparation, XRPD and SAXS measurements, and coordinating beamtime across Europe at synchrotron facilities.

Primarily on-site at Basel with 80–100% workload. You will handle samples, ensure safety and accuracy, manage documentation, and contribute to R&D projects in a fast-growing startup environment.

Qualifikationen

• BSc (minimum) or MSc (preferred) in chemistry, life-sciences, engineering or equivalent, completed with at least 3 years of practical laboratory experience.
• Strong understanding and experience of laboratory safety practices.
• Ability to work rigorously and autonomously with high accuracy and reliability.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines.
• Strong customer-orientation mindset.
• Willingness to travel 1-2 times a month in Europe.
• Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written).
• Ability to write technical documents.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Eagerness to work in a dynamic start-up environment.

Aufgaben

• Prepare samples for XRPD, SAXS and related analytical techniques, including loading into capillaries and precise weighing.
• Participate in beamtime data collection sessions 1-2 times per month at synchrotron facilities in Europe.
• Handle, store and ship samples with proper documentation.
• Plan and manage beamtime logistics for the Excelsus team.
• Develop innovative technical solutions for sample formats and custom experiments.
