Zusammenfassung

Excelsus Structural Solutions (Swiss) AG in Basel is seeking a Laboratory & Synchrotron Technician (m/f/d) to support laboratory and synchrotron activities on-site at St. Johann Campus.

You will handle sample preparation and contribute to XRPD and SAXS measurements at synchrotron facilities across Europe for customer projects and R&D. The role requires a BSc (minimum) or MSc (preferred) with at least 3 years of lab experience, strong safety practices, and high accuracy.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum BSc; MSc preferred; 3 years of practical laboratory experience.
• Strong laboratory safety practices.
• Ability to work autonomously with a very high degree of accuracy and reliability.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong customer-orientation mindset.
• Willingness to travel 1-2 times a month in Europe.
• Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written).
• Ability to write technical documents.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
• Eagerness to work in a dynamic start-up environment.

Aufgaben

• Prepare samples for XRPD, SAXS and complementary analytical techniques.
• Load powder samples into thin glass capillaries under controlled conditions.
• Regularly participate in beamtime data collection sessions at synchrotron facilities in Europe.
• Handle, store and ship samples with proper documentation.
• Plan and manage beamtime logistics for the Excelsus team.
• Develop innovative technical solutions for sample formats and customized experiments.
