Job summary

CSEM Neuchâtel is seeking a Business Unit Leader to drive strategy, finance, and operations for a high‑tech BU with 80+ engineers. You will shape the research program, guide the technology roadmap, and lead cross‑functional teams to deliver world‑class micro and nano systems solutions.

You will participate in executive discussions, manage budgets, and collaborate with external partners and suppliers to strengthen Switzerland’s industrial edge. Fluency in English and French is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering, PhD or MBA are assets.
• International high‑tech experience is highly desirable.
• Minimum 10 years in senior management within high‑tech industries.
• Strong understanding of the global high‑tech landscape.
• Business acumen and macro-trend awareness.
• Solid knowledge of micro systems applications (medical devices, electronics).
• Proven ability to drive financial performance with CFO collaboration.
• Proven experience in leading and motivating technical teams.
• Fluent in English and French.

Responsibilities

• Define and deploy BU strategy aligned to company strategy.
• Join Executive Committee and manage key internal/external relations.
• Oversee budget, portfolio and investments; drive financial reporting.
• Lead microfabrication / cleanroom investments with stakeholders.
• Ensure ISO 9001/14001 quality adherence and audits.
• Manage a leadership team of 8 senior leaders and 80+ experts.
• Set annual goals and develop BU talent, promoting growth.
• Collaborate with HR on hiring, promotions, and salary equity.
• Build and maintain relationships with cantonal and institutional partners.
