Job summary

Oxford Global Resources is seeking a Test Automation Engineer specialized in Python for an on-site freelance role in Bonaduz, Switzerland. The project runs 12 months with a 40-hour workweek, starting ASAP.

You will design, implement, and maintain automation across unit, integration, and system tests for embedded and cloud-based applications, transitioning test infrastructure from C# to Python.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of Python development.

Responsibilities

• Create test cases for integration and automation.
• Ensure high software quality through unit, integration and hardware-in-the-loop tests.
• Guide team members on best practices in modern test automation.
• Collaborate with Embedded Software Engineers to understand their needs.

Role: Test Automation Engineer - PYTHON

Start Date: ASAP

Length: 12 months

Schedule: 40 hours Full Time

Location: On site – Bonaduz, Switzerland

Technical Skills:

• Background in physical device/industrial testing (life science background is not strictly required).


• Ability to write automated test scripts alongside manual testing.


• Transitioning test infrastructure from C# to Python.


• Knowledge of Gherkin and basic ISTQB certification.

In this role, as part of the Test Automation squad you will design, implement, and maintain client’s system for automation of the software development process from writing requirements to automation of unit, integration, and system tests, including automated generation of verification and validation documentation and release of their embedded and IoT products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, extend and improve an existing CI/CD environment and framework for automation of software test execution


• Improve and maintain our testing processes and infrastructure


• Improve and maintain our test system for embedded Linux devices and cloud-based applications


• Creation of test cases for integration and automation of their execution


• Ensure the highest standards of software quality through unit tests, integration tests and hardware in the loop tests


• Guide team members on using best practices in modern software test automation


• Work closely with Embedded Software Engineers to understand their demands

Skills:

• Excellent knowledge of Python Development (MUST)


• At least three years of professional experience in test automation of software for embedded Linux devices and cloud-based applications


• Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery


• Experience in test automation, e.g. Robot Framework, Behave or similar


• Fluency in source code management with Git


• Analytical, independent, and thorough working method


• Ability to work collaboratively and goal-oriented in a team environment
