The role emphasizes ownership, mentorship, and strategic engineering decisions over coding volume, with approximately 4–5 hours per day, Monday to Friday, and occasional UK-aligned meetings.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• 6+ years of production Ruby on Rails experience.
• Experience leading or mentoring a small engineering team.
• Strong code-review and architectural assessment skills.
• Hands-on with AI-native development tools (Cursor, Claude Code).
• Experience integrating AI tools into software development while maintaining quality.
• Ability to define standards, processes, and collaborative practices.
• Experience in remote-first, distributed teams.
• Excellent communication and mentoring skills.
• Ownership mindset with the ability to make technical decisions.
• Part-time availability ~4–5 hours/day, Mon–Fri.
• UK meeting alignment occasionally; UK hours not required.
• Legal authorization to work in current country of residence.
