Lonza in Basel-Birsfelden region is seeking a Category Buyer for Engineering Services. The role supports category strategies, cross-functional collaboration, and end-to-end procurement for design, construction, commissioning, and related project services.

The ideal candidate will conduct market research, lead RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, negotiate terms, and ensure timely delivery while managing supplier performance and compliance.

Qualifikationen

• Proven strategic sourcing and procurement experience in engineering services, EPCM, and technical services within life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical sectors.

Aufgaben

• Support the development and execution of category strategies for the procurement of engineering services, including design, construction, commissioning, qualification, and related project services.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to understand business requirements and support successful project execution.
• Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to identify qualified suppliers and monitor supplier performance.
• Lead end-to-end RFI/RFP/RFQ processes, including commercial evaluations, negotiations, and contract finalization.
• Negotiate framework agreements and project-specific contracts to secure competitive terms and ensure compliance within company policies and standards.
• Execute procurement activities from sourcing through PO placement, ensuring timely delivery, quality, and cost effectiveness.
• Monitor market trends and supplier capacity to inform strategic sourcing decisions and risk management.
