Job summary

Thomson Reuters Corp. is seeking a Director, Chief of Staff to report to the Head of CoCounsel Legal engineering. You will bridge engineering execution with operational strategy, drive high-impact projects and enable timely decision-making across senior leadership.

You will partner with executives and finance to manage budgets, headcount and location strategy while leading strategic initiatives that improve cross-functional alignment and delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or working with software engineering or technical teams and understanding SDLC, Agile, and AI/ML product development.
• Proven track record delivering strategic and technical programs across engineering, product and business stakeholders.
• Background in strategy and operations, business operations, consulting or program leadership supporting senior executives.
• Strong business and financial acumen, including budget and resource planning.
• Analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills; data-driven and detail-oriented.
• Excellent written, verbal and visual communication; able to present to senior executives.
• Ability to influence at all levels in a matrixed organization.
• Experience with global teams across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Define and operationalize the organization's strategic priorities and long-term roadmap.
• Build the leadership operating rhythm: staff meetings, reviews, planning cycles, leadership forums.
• Frame options and recommendations using data to enable fast, informed decisions.
• Oversee resource planning, headcount and budget in partnership with Finance.
• Collaborate with HR on org design, hiring plans and succession.
• Prepare executive-level strategy documents and senior updates.
• Define and track OKRs; surface gaps in delivery, talent, cost and tech.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve planning, resourcing and timelines.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the Head of CoCounsel Legal engineering; manage escalations.
• Coordinate with communications for internal/external messaging.
