Zusammenfassung

Hexagon Robotics in Zurich seeks a Staff ML Engineer to drive state-of-the-art machine learning for robotic manipulation and autonomous systems. You will push imitation learning, foundation model approaches, and reinforcement learning refinements across a production-grade robot software stack.

You will collaborate with robotics, controls, perception, and software teams, advancing scalable pipelines and deploying models on constrained hardware while mentoring junior engineers in a fast-moving R&D

Qualifikationen

• MS/PhD in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or equivalent.
• 6+ years of experience in developing and deploying multi-modal machine learning models, preferably in robotics.
• Experience with generative models for robot control (transformers, diffusion, or flow matching).
• Experience deploying ML algorithms on resource-constrained hardware for online inference.
• Proficiency in PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Strong Python programming; C++ is a plus.
• Knowledge of robotics frameworks/tools (ROS2, Omniverse).
• Proficiency in English; basic German is advantageous.

Aufgaben

• Design and develop state-of-the-art ML methods for robotic manipulation, incl. imitation learning, robotics foundation models, and RL refinement.
• Monitor the evolving state of the art and help shape our technical roadmap.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate learning-based methods into robot software stack.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior team members.
