Job summary

avacone Switzerland is seeking a seasoned Windows Server Engineer to design, implement, secure and maintain Microsoft-based server platforms. You will ensure reliable infrastructure operations through identity integration, automation and ongoing platform improvement.

You will build and manage enterprise Windows Server environments, patch and harden systems, support AD, DNS and DHCP, and collaborate with security, network and cloud teams to ensure high availability and resilience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Six to ten years of relevant experience or demonstrable expertise appropriate to the role.

Responsibilities

• Build, configure and maintain enterprise Windows Server environments.
• Manage operating system patching, upgrades, hardening and lifecycle activities.
• Support Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP and related identity services.
• Implement configuration baselines and security controls.
• Support virtualised and cloud-hosted Windows workloads.
• Develop PowerShell scripts to automate provisioning and administration.
• Monitor system performance, availability, capacity and security events.
• Participate in incident, problem, change and major incident management.
• Support backup, recovery, resilience and disaster recovery requirements.
• Investigate complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Maintain technical documentation, standards and operating procedures.
• Collaborate with security, network, database, application and cloud teams.
