Job summary
Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Switzerland is seeking an experienced Senior System Engineer (SCADA) to strengthen the engineering team in substation automation for HV/MV installations.
You will design, implement and Commission SCADA solutions, coordinate interfaces, and support projects from concept through FAT and commissioning, with a focus on reliability and customer satisfaction. The role requires strong expertise in IEC 61850, industrial networks, and cybersecurity, with fluency in English and
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Power/Automation Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in power automation, substation automation, SCADA or RTU systems.
- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols, network architectures and cybersecurity in critical infrastructure.
- Experience with IEC 61850-based systems and integration of protection, control and automation.
- Experience with FAT, commissioning and customer training is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement SCADA systems for HV/MV substations per IEC protocols.
- Develop system and network architectures and integrate RTU, gateway, and protection systems.
- Configure Ethernet networks and implement project-specific software.
- Execute FAT and system tests to ensure high quality.
- Support commissioning activities at customer sites in Switzerland and troubleshoot complex issues.
- Collaborate with project management, sales, suppliers and internal teams to ensure project success.
- Prepare technical specifications and test documentation.
