Job summary

Nebius is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on the rendering infrastructure of our agent-native search engine. You will modify Chromium to cut CPU, memory and startup costs per page while preserving essential scripts.

You’ll patch and build Chromium inside our workflow, keep compatibility with the web, and help scale browser fleets and the production system around it. The role requires 5+ years building production systems, strong C++ in large codebases, and distributed systems

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production systems.
• Strong C++ in a large, performance-critical codebase (Chromium/Blink/V8 a plus).
• Extensive knowledge of Chromium architecture: process model, IPC, rendering pipeline.
• Experience building or maintaining patched Chromium builds.
• Familiar with modern frontend rendering (SSR/CSR) and frameworks.
• Distributed systems experience with Kubernetes and Go or Python.

Responsibilities

• Change Chromium in its heavy core to cut CPU, memory and startup cost per page.
• Strip Chromium down for agent workloads while keeping necessary scripts running.
• Keep the browser compatible with the web and rendering behavior.
• Profile and tune browser fleets: process model, memory, startup, isolation and crash handling.
• Build the production system around it: how browsers are launched, pooled, recycled and monitored.
