Job summary

Roche in Basel, Switzerland seeks a highly motivated Senior or Principal Scientist to advance crystallization and solid-state development for small molecules. You will design, optimize, and scale crystallization, precipitation, and isolation processes under non-GMP and cGMP conditions, ensuring target purity and polymorph control.

The role interfaces with chemistry, formulation, and production, driving innovation and digitalization.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or equivalent with experience in end-to-end crystallization and solid-state processes.
• Strong background in polymorphism, filtration, drying, and purification.
• Experience with non-GMP and cGMP environments and regulatory filings.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and scale crystallization, precipitation, and isolation processes.
• Define design spaces and operating ranges for manufacturing of drug substance.
• Collaborate across chemistry, formulation, and production teams to solve CMC challenges.
• Lead digital transformation and modeling to improve process efficiency.
