RIDGELINE Discovery GmbH in Basel seeks a Senior/Principal Scientist in Medicinal Chemistry to lead small-molecule drug discovery programs from hit identification through lead optimization and nomination of development candidates.

You will own medicinal chemistry strategies, oversee CRO chemistry partners, and collaborate with Biology, DMPK, Computational Chemistry and Data Science to advance innovative design and optimization across the portfolio.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in Medicinal Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Chemical Biology or related field with relevant industrial drug discovery experience.
• Proven track record in rational compound design and multiparameter optimization.
• Experience leading external chemistry teams and CROs; familiarity with modern synthesis technologies is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Independently develop and execute compound design strategies from hit identification through lead optimization and candidate nomination.
• Direct and manage CRO chemistry teams and optimize workflows for high-quality compound delivery.
• Collaborate with Biology, DMPK, Computational Chemistry and Data Science to interpret datasets and guide optimization.
• Identify and implement innovative medicinal chemistry approaches and contribute to invention disclosures and patents.
• Contribute to project strategy and due diligence across Versant/Ridgeline portfolio.
• Support evaluation of new opportunities and company creation activities within the portfolio.
