Job summary

RIVR, part of Amazon, is advancing autonomous robots for last‑mile delivery. As a Senior Software Engineer for the Robot Platform, you will design, develop, and integrate software across simulation and real hardware, collaborating with embedded systems, DevOps, and field engineering.

You will implement production-ready code in C++, prototype algorithms in Python, and help deploy through CI/CD pipelines. This role requires robotics depth and hands-on hardware software deployment in Zürich.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in robotics, engineering, CS, or a related field.
• Minimum five years of industry or research experience (PhD applicable).
• Strong robotics background across sensors, perception, mapping, localization, navigation, and control.

Responsibilities

• Integrate the robot software stack, including simulation and real hardware.
• Collaborate with embedded systems to interface platform software and hardware drivers.
• Implement deployment-ready code optimized for the robot's compute constraints.
• Work with DevOps to integrate development into CI/CD pipelines.
• Guide Field Engineering for platform deployment and maintenance.
• Advise product managers and executives on technical decisions.
