Job summary

RIVR, part of Amazon is seeking a Senior AI Engineer to lead reinforcement learning and deep learning efforts for real-world robotic autonomy and manipulation. You will work with simulated and real data to advance intelligent robotics and mentor a software team.

Requirements: Master’s degree or higher, 5+ years in ML/ robotics, strong RL, deep learning, C++, Python, and deployment to hardware. In-person presence at our Zurich offices is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Robotics, or Machine Learning.
• At least five years of industry or research experience; PhD applicable.
• Strong fundamentals in deep learning, RL (MDPs, policy optimization, sim-to-real).
• Robotics background with autonomy or manipulation; deployment to hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop RL algorithms for autonomous robotic locomotion and manipulation.
• Design, test and refine algorithms for real-world deployment under hardware constraints.
• Collaborate with vision and imitation learning teams to leverage simulated and real data.
• Write production-ready code optimized for robot hardware.
• Lead, mentor and grow the software engineering team.
• Provide guidance to product managers and executives for strategic decisions.
