Job summary

RIVR, an Amazon company, is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and operate server-side systems powering our robotics delivery platform. You will create robust microservices, integrate with customer systems, and drive data processing in a cloud-native environment.

You will collaborate with frontend, robotics, and infrastructure teams to deliver end-to-end features, ensure reliability, and scale the backend for diverse urban deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend experience designing, building, deploying, and operating backend systems.
• Strong experience with Typescript, Java, C++ and/or Python in a SOA context.
• Experience with at least two database technologies and integrating with third-party APIs.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services to integrate the platform with customers’ systems.
• Develop and enhance the backend infrastructure for robot operations.
• Aggregate KPIs from the platform and provide insights into performance and value.
• Contribute to architecture, reliability, and scalability in a containerized microservices context.
• Collaborate with frontend, robotics, and infra engineers to deliver end-to-end features.
