Job summary

Lonza in Visp, Switzerland, is seeking a QC GMP Specialist to assess QC processes against GMP requirements, translate regulatory expectations into practical guidance, and lead deviation investigations with CAPAs. You will support inspections and collaborate across QC, QA, Manufacturing, and Tech Ops to drive continuous quality improvements.

The role requires a master’s or PhD in life sciences or related field (or a bachelor with extensive experience) and 2–3 years in GMP environments, plus

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in life sciences, chemistry, pharmacy, biotechnology, or related field, or Bachelor’s with extensive experience.
• 2–3 years of GMP-regulated pharmaceutical/biotech experience.
• Knowledge of Swissmedic, FDA, EU GMP, EMA, ICH, and pharmacopoeias.

Responsibilities

• Assess QC processes against GMP requirements and implement improvements.
• Translate regulatory requirements into practical guidance for laboratory processes and documentation.
• Support inspections and regulatory inspections, advising QC teams on compliance.
• Lead deviation investigations, identify root causes, and develop CAPAs.
• Review and approve compliance documentation and quality records.
• Lead cross-functional quality improvement projects across QC, QA, Manufacturing, and Tech Ops.
• Coach colleagues on GMP, quality risk management, and inspection readiness.
