Job summary

IonQ in Geneva, Switzerland, is seeking a Staff QA Engineer to drive quality assurance for PQC hardware acceleration in HSM and network appliances. You will own system-level test strategies across hardware, firmware, drivers, and cryptographic APIs.

The role emphasizes building automated QA pipelines, executing compliance campaigns (NIST ACVP/CAVP, FIPS, CNSA), and delivering evidence for certification. Fluency in English is required; knowledge of French or German is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• At least five years in quality assurance or system test of embedded, hardware or networking products.
• Experience building test automation in Python and integrating it into CI pipelines.
• Familiar with security or compliance testing (FIPS, Common Criteria) is a plus.
• Fluency in English is required; French or German is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute system-level test plans for FPGA-based cryptographic products.
• Build and maintain automated QA infrastructure and CI integration.
• Execute standards-based compliance testing (ACVP/CAVP, FIPS 140-3, CNSA) as part of certification.
• Own defect tracking, triage, and release-qualification criteria for each product.
• Collaborate with verification and security engineers across hardware through firmware.
