Job summary

IonQ is seeking a Staff Cryptography Engineer in Geneva to help build post‑quantum cryptography hardware acceleration for HSM and network appliances. You will implement software for ML‑KEM, ML‑DSA and SLH‑DSA/LMS, with reference models, optimized code, and test infrastructure.

Work in C/C++/Rust and Python, create constant‑time implementations, and support verification with NIST ACVP/CAVP, test vectors, and collaboration with RTL and firmware teams to ensure correctness and security.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Cryptography, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field required; PhD a plus.
• Five+ years of experience implementing cryptographic algorithms or security-critical software in C/C++ or Rust.
• Fluency in English; French or German a plus; strong foundations in cryptography are essential.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain reference/bit-accurate models of ML‑KEM, ML‑DSA and SLH‑DSA/LMS in C/C++/Rust and Python; develop constant-time implementations and test-vector tooling (NIST ACVP) for verification.
• Contribute to hardware-friendly decomposition of algorithms (Keccak, NTT, polynomial arithmetic) and support RTL/firmware teams with cryptographic guidance.
