IonQ in Geneva, Switzerland, is seeking a Staff Cryptography Engineer to build post‑quantum cryptography hardware acceleration for HSM and network appliances. You will implement reference and bit‑accurate models for ML‑KEM, ML‑DSA and LMS/DSA, create constant‑time crypto routines, and extend ACVP verification tooling in C/C++/Rust and Python. A Master’s degree (PhD a plus) and 5+ years of crypto software experience are required; fluent English is essential, with French or German an advantage.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in Cryptography, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field with 5+ years of crypto software experience.
Strong C/C++/Rust skills and familiarity with modern cryptographic primitives.
Exposure to post-quantum schemes (lattice-based or hash-based) is a plus.
Fluency in English; French or German is an advantage.
Responsibilities
Implement reference and bit-accurate models for ML-KEM, ML-DSA and LMS/DSA.
Develop constant-time cryptographic routines and verify with test vectors for NIST ACVP/CAVP.
