Zusammenfassung

Lightium AG is seeking a Senior Photonics Application Engineer to be the technical face of the company from initial inquiry through tape-out readiness. You will translate customer needs into a credible technical scope and guide customers along the appropriate path (MPW, dedicated lot, or production) using Lightium’s PDKs for O-band and C-band.

You will own the pre-sales journey, qualify requirements, and coordinate with R&D and operations to ensure successful onboarding and design enablement,

Qualifikationen

• 5+ years of industry experience in integrated photonics design, applications engineering, or a technical customer-facing role.
• Experience designing photonic engines at a transceiver or system level (IMDD, Coherent) is a strong plus.
• Knowledge of PDK quality, design rule clarity, yield data and turnaround is essential.

Aufgaben

• Pre-Sales Technical Ownership: be the first technical contact for inbound and outbound opportunities across telecom, datacom, quantum, defense, AI, and health.
• Define the technical scope of each quotation with Operations and Sales, covering process, test, and packaging options.
• Record technical requirements, decisions, and commitments in the CRM for the Sales team.
