Clera is seeking an experienced infrastructure engineer to build and scale cloud infrastructure for AI research workloads in Zürich, Switzerland. You will own compute, storage, and workflow orchestration, focusing on reliability, performance, and cost efficiency.

Ideal candidates have 5–10+ years in infrastructure, strong Python/Linux skills, and experience with major cloud services, distributed systems, and Terraform. Equity and visa sponsorship are available. On-site role in Zürich.

Qualifikationen

• 5–10+ years in infrastructure or software engineering.
• Strong Python and Linux scripting, debugging, and process management.
• Experience operating services on a major cloud platform (compute, storage, networking).
• Understanding distributed systems concepts (queues, timeouts, retries, idempotency).
• Experience troubleshooting production issues balancing reliability, complexity, and cost.
• Self-directed, collaborative approach with strong follow‑through.
• Familiarity with KVM/QEMU, VM images or snapshots, Terraform, monitoring tools, batch scheduling, experiment orchestration or sandboxing untrusted code is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Build and operate cloud compute infrastructure that supports research workloads at scale.
• Design and optimize distributed workflow scheduling for performance and cost efficiency.
• Develop recovery safeguards for worker interruptions, application crashes, and partial results while preventing duplicate work.
• Improve monitoring, logging, and diagnostic tools to help identify and resolve system failures.
• Partner with researchers and engineers to develop platform capabilities and shape infrastructure architecture.
