Vaxcyte is expanding its Manufacturing Science and Technology team in Visp, Switzerland, recruiting a Protein Intermediates Sr Bioprocess Engineer to support microbial manufacturing operations from clinical to commercial readiness at CMOs.

The role requires deep expertise in microbial fermentation, primary recovery, and purification, with strong cross-functional collaboration across program management, QA, regulatory, and supply chains to ensure GMP manufacturing of polysaccharide intermediates.

Qualifikationen

• PhD in Bio/Chemical Engineering or Microbiology/Chemistry/Biochemistry with 8+ years of Pharma/Biotech experience; or Master’s with 5+ years of experience.

Aufgaben

• Work cross-functionally with PM, PD, QA, facilities, regulatory, finance, logistics, clinical supply, and CMOs to ensure GMP manufacturing of polysaccharide intermediates.
• Oversee CMO service providers to ensure delivery of commercial readiness, process validation, and commercial campaigns.
• Lead technology transfer, equipment qualification, late-stage characterization, process validation, and deviation investigations.
• Plan, design, execute, and document polysaccharides manufacturing investigations and CAPAs.
• Drive continuous improvement through new technology and first-principles process engineering.
• Support CMOs in supplier selection and qualification; review reports and regulatory submissions.
• Present at department and senior management meetings; support inspections when needed.
