Novartis Basel, Switzerland is seeking an Upstream Process (USP) Research Scientist II to advance our biologics pipeline. You will execute mammalian cell culture processes to produce antibodies and therapeutic proteins, scale suspension cultures, operate single-use bioreactors, and contribute to multidisciplinary project teams.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s Degree in Life Sciences with relevant experience in sterile mammalian cell culture or bioprocessing.
• Hands-on experience with mammalian cell technologies, stable cell lines, and sterile lab techniques.
• Experience with Wave Systems for bioprocessing.
• Knowledge of suspension cell culture systems and large-scale expansion workflows.
• Ability to follow platform-based approaches with curiosity to improve processes.
• Ability to rapidly learn new technologies and equipment.
• Proven ability to prioritize workloads and deliver high-quality results.
• Excellent communication and collaboration; English required, German advantageous.

• Execute mammalian cell culture processes to produce recombinant antibodies and therapeutic proteins.
• Expand and maintain suspension cultures from lab to pilot scale.
• Operate single-use bioreactor systems to support protein expression programs.
• Design, perform, and analyze experiments to resolve technical challenges.
• Evaluate literature and apply innovative technologies to improve outcomes.
• Maintain lab readiness and prepare sterile production materials.
• Document findings, communicate results, and contribute to multidisciplinary discussions.
