Zusammenfassung

Orbem is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer to be the senior technical authority on site and in our labs, owning end-to-end resolution of complex service incidents at customer sites. You will tailor solutions to local conditions and mentor junior engineers. Travel is required up to 70% across the EU; a European driving license is required.

You will also guide installation efforts when needed and contribute to maintenance playbooks. Fluent English and Italian are essential; German is a plus.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on experience diagnosing and resolving complex electrical, mechanical, or automation issues in industrial or field-service environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical diagrams, AutoCAD, and automation/networking concepts (PLC, Modbus).
• Ability to be final escalation point for urgent issues and to make autonomous decisions under time pressure.
• Experience mentoring, training, or guiding junior technical colleagues.
• Experience creating or improving technical SOPs, checklists, or maintenance processes.

Aufgaben

• Own end-to-end diagnosis and resolution of complex service incidents at customer sites and in internal labs.
• Serve as primary escalation point for difficult repairs and on-site technical contact for suppliers/partners.
• Tailor maintenance approaches to local site conditions and document deviations.
• Own creation and continuous improvement of maintenance and service SOPs/checklists (PDCA).
• Mentor junior Field Engineers/Field Service Engineers on troubleshooting practices.
• Lead Site Visit Checklist execution during installation and upgrade projects.
• Provide technical feedback to Engineering, escalate risks, and propose solutions.
