Job summary

Jobgether is seeking a Senior ML Engineer - Malware Detection to remotely develop and deploy ML systems for web malware detection across Linux hosting environments in Switzerland. You’ll work with malware samples, detection rules, and automation to improve accuracy and reduce false positives.

Qualifications

• Production ML experience: 5+ years in production ML, adversarial domain preferred.
• Transformer model expertise: training, fine-tuning, tokenization, and efficient inference.
• Classical ML knowledge: gradient boosting, calibrated probabilities, handling class imbalance.
• Rigorous evaluation: leakage-free splits by time/malware family, FP/FN control.
• Inference & cost: measure throughput/latency; optimize CPU/memory; quantify costs.
• Python, PyTorch, Hugging Face: strong stack; SQL for big data analysis.
• English writing: strong documentation and asynchronous collaboration.
• Ownership & collaboration: end-to-end ML lifecycle ownership with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead ML model development, evaluation, and deployment for scalable malware detection.
• Develop classification/triage models to prioritize samples for inspection.
• Build automated signature generation from emerging malware campaigns.
• Create context-aware threat detection for phishing pages and webshells.
• Improve detection precision and cleanup effectiveness post-remediation.
• Establish rigorous evaluation frameworks and regression testing.
• Optimize inference throughput, latency, and resource usage for production.
• Move models to production with shadow deployments and controlled releases.
• Incorporate analyst feedback and retrain cycles into datasets.
• Develop reusable training pipelines and GPU resource management.
• Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and infra teams on detection improvements.
• Document architecture, evaluation methods, and production results.
• Meet milestones: production-data model in month 1; multiple models in production by month 3.
