Job summary

mimic robotics in Zurich is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to scale and refine our hardware products. You will bridge mechanical, electronics, and software, turning prototypes into reliable, scalable robotics solutions and taking ownership in a fast‑moving startup.

You will design and iterate components, optimize for manufacturability and cost, collaborate with cross‑functional teams, and work with suppliers to support production.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
• Experience designing and developing complex physical products from prototyping through production.
• Strong CAD skills and understanding of manufacturing, materials, and DFM.
• Understanding of electromechanical interactions between mechanical and electronic components.
• Experience improving designs to support increased production volumes.
• Hands-on, practical problem-solving and iterative development.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced startup with ownership and autonomy.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve mechanical components and assemblies for advanced robotic systems.
• Help transition products from prototype to scalable production, optimizing for manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and robotics engineers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electronic components.
• Build, test, and iterate on prototypes, identifying design improvements and resolving technical challenges.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to support production and assembly processes.
• Take ownership of engineering challenges in a fast-moving environment where priorities evolve quickly.
