Job summary

IonQ, a leading quantum platform, is seeking a Senior Manager to lead cryptographic engineering for PQC hardware acceleration. The role oversees a team of 8+ engineers, managing programme execution, budgets, and cross-functional collaboration with senior technical leadership.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, 10+ years in complex hardware/security product development, and at least 5 years of people management.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science (or related field) and at least ten years in hardware/security product development.
• Five+ years of direct people management of engineering teams that shipped certified products.
• Fluency in English is required; French or German is an advantage.
• Exposure to cryptography or security products is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead, recruit, develop and retain a team of engineers across cryptography, hardware, software, verification, QA and security disciplines.
• Own programme execution end to end: planning, risks, budget ownership, processes and executive reporting.
• Collaborate with senior technical leaders to align architecture and direction while enabling execution.
