Job summary

Jobgether seeks a Senior ICT Technician to own internal IT operations for a fully remote, globally distributed organization focused on open-source tech and smart home innovation. You will manage identity, access, Linux admin, incident response, and automation to support productivity and security.

You will collaborate with cloud engineering and leadership, shaping IT processes, ensuring secure devices, and maintaining server infrastructure across a diverse international team.

Qualifications

• Several years of IT administration, systems administration or technical support experience in a remote-first or distributed org.
• Hands-on Ansible configuration and infrastructure automation experience.
• Strong Linux administration including server maintenance and firewall config.
• Experience supporting macOS, Windows and Linux environments.
• Experience administering Google Workspace, SSO, MFA and password management solutions.
• Scripting in Bash or Python to automate tasks.
• Knowledge of endpoint protection, patching, and incident response.
• Clear English written comms and ability to support colleagues with varying tech levels.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
• Familiarity with Terraform or Nomad is a plus.
• GDPR and information security framework awareness.
• MDM experience and vendor management beneficial.
• Open-Source / Home Assistant familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and maintain employee computers across macOS, Windows, and Linux; provide global IT support.
• Administer Google Workspace, SSO, MFA, and password management; manage access provisioning and revocations.
• Manage employee-facing apps, software, and internal services for availability and security.
• Collaborate with cloud engineering to maintain server environments; perform Linux admin and firewall config.
• Develop automation for device provisioning, patching, onboarding/offboarding using scripting tools.
• Oversee SaaS tools and licenses (Slack, Jira, Google Workspace, etc.).
• Define and maintain internal security standards; support GDPR alignment and reviews.
• Investigate security incidents and lead remediation actions.
• Maintain IT docs and runbooks in internal handbook for self-service help.
• Identify opportunities to simplify workflows and improve reliability through automation.
