Zusammenfassung

RIVAL is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer – Functional Safety to own hardware‑level safety design for our robots’ custom electronics. You will design fault‑tolerant circuits, implement safe‑state mechanisms, and perform FMEDA to substantiate SIL targets.

This hands‑on role requires a Master’s in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years of hardware FS experience, and familiarity with IEC 61508, ISO 13849 or ISO 26262. In-person collaboration at our Zürich offices is required.

Qualifikationen

• Master’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or closely related field.
• 5+ years designing electronics hardware for Functional Safety–certified products.
• Experience with IEC 61508, ISO 13849, or ISO 26262.
• Delivered PCB-level hardware that achieved SIL 2 or SIL 3 (PL d/e, ASIL B–D).
• Background in analog, power, and/or mixed-signal circuit design.
• Hands-on experience implementing safety architectures in schematics—not just block diagrams.
• Ability to perform FMEDA and SIL metrics calculations on your own designs.
• Understanding of failure rate data sources and component derating for reliability.
