RIVR, part of Amazon, is seeking a senior hardware engineer to lead motor drive and power electronics design for robotic joints. You will own circuit design, PCB layout, and safety-critical validation, collaborating with mechanical and software teams to integrate hardware with our Physical AI systems.

Applicants should have a Master/PhD in EE or Robotics, 5+ years hardware R&D, expertise with Altium/KiCad, BLDC/PMSM dynamics, and real-time embedded C/C++ (STM32). On-site in Zürich.

Qualifikationen

• Master/PhD or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or closely related field.
• 5+ years hardware R&D experience with a focus on motor drives or power electronics.
• Proficiency with PCB design tools (Altium or KiCad).
• Strong understanding of BLDC/PMSM dynamics and real-time embedded C/C++ (STM32 or similar).
• Experience with electronics instrumentation (oscilloscopes, power analyzers) for debugging and optimization.
• Experience coordinating with OEMs/ODMs and moving designs from prototype to mass production.

• Lead design and development of motor drive hardware and power electronics for robotic joints.
• Own circuit design and PCB layout, ensuring performance and EMI/EMS compliance.
• Oversee safety-critical hardware aspects of the design.
• Build and test prototypes; validate design maturity for production scaling.
