Job summary

EPAM Systems in Lausanne, Switzerland, is seeking a Senior Application Architect for the Commercial & Origination Portfolio. You will shape architecture for customer-facing sales, origination and contract pricing applications, built on custom code and SaaS, collaborating with agile teams across Switzerland, Spain and India.

The role emphasizes governance, stakeholder engagement, and technical leadership, with a focus on energy markets, SaaS integrations, and full-stack capabilities.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in application engineering or solution architecture.
• Strong background in energy markets and trading applications.
• Fluent English; French or German strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as senior technical reference for the commercial and origination application portfolio.
• Define and govern application architecture and technology choices in line with client design principles.
• Support Build and Run teams in managing priorities and quality.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior client stakeholders across IT and commercial leadership.
• Ensure technical governance through design reviews, standards adherence and technical debt management.
• Support business cases for portfolio investments with effort, risk and option analysis.
• Manage escalations for high-impact incidents and delivery risks within the portfolio.

We're looking for a Senior Application Architect – Commercial & Origination Portfolio to join our team in Lausanne, Switzerland, in an on-site working mode. You will support a major European company across more than 10 countries. The project brings the client’s application services under one managed services partner, covering both production operations (Run) and change delivery (Build).As Senior Application Architect, you will shape the architecture of customer-facing sales, origination and contract pricing applications, built on both custom code and SaaS solutions. You will work closely with agile delivery teams across Switzerland, Spain and India and align technical direction with the client’s commercial goals.
