• Act as senior technical reference for the commercial and origination application portfolio.
• Define and govern application architecture and technology choices in line with client design principles.
• Support Build and Run teams in managing priorities and quality.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior client stakeholders across IT and commercial leadership.
• Ensure technical governance through design reviews, standards adherence and technical debt management.
• Support business cases for portfolio investments with effort, risk and option analysis.
• Manage escalations for high-impact incidents and delivery risks within the portfolio.

Job description

We're looking for a Senior Application Architect - Commercial & Origination Portfolio to join our team in Lausanne, Switzerland, in an on-site working mode. You will support a major European company across more than 10 countries. The project brings the client's application services under one managed services partner, covering both production operations (Run) and change delivery (Build). As Senior Application Architect, you will shape the architecture of customer-facing sales, origination and contract pricing applications, built on both custom code and SaaS solutions. You will work closely with agile delivery teams across Switzerland, Spain and India and align technical direction with the client's commercial goals. The role follows business hours, with extended support around releases, go-lives and market deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Act as senior technical reference for the commercial and origination application portfolio
• Define and govern application architecture and technology choices in line with client design principles
• Support Build and Run teams in managing priorities and quality
• Build and mantain relationships with senior client stakeholders across IT and commercial leadership
• Ensure technical governance through design reviews, standards adherence and technical debt management
• Support business cases for portfolio investments with effort, risk and option analysis
• Manage escalations for high-impact incidents and delivery risks within the portfolio

Requirements

• Extensive experience (10+ years) in application engineering or solution architecture
• Strong background in energy markets and trading applications
• Experience guiding or coordinating Build and Run activities, acting as a technical reference for the team
• Expertise in solution, application and integration architecture
• Practical knowledge of AWS, web services and modern web/backend stacks
• Strong stakeholder management and technical governance skills in an outsourced delivery model
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• Fluent English, with French or German strongly preferred
• Nice to have Experience with SaaS integration
• Hands-on experience with full-stack JavaScript or Python
• Familiarity with risk and pricing applications
