Job summary

EPAM Systems in Lausanne, Switzerland, seeks a Senior Application Architect for the Commercial & Origination Portfolio on-site. You will shape architecture for customer-facing sales, origination and pricing apps, built on custom code and SaaS, collaborating with teams in Switzerland, Spain and India.

The role requires governance, design reviews, and close coordination with Run and Build activities across markets. Excellent communication in English and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in application engineering or solution architecture.
• Strong background in energy markets and trading applications.
• Experience guiding Build and Run activities; acts as a technical reference.
• Expertise in solution, application and integration architecture.
• Practical knowledge of AWS, web services and modern web/backend stacks.
• Fluent English; French or German preferred.

Responsibilities

• Act as senior technical reference for the commercial and origination portfolio.
• Define and govern application architecture and technology choices.
• Support Build and Run teams in prioritization and quality.
• Build and maintain relationships with senior client stakeholders across IT and commercial leadership.
• Ensure governance through design reviews, standards adherence and technical debt management.
• Support business cases for portfolio investments with effort, risk and option analysis.
• Manage escalations for high-impact incidents and delivery risks within the portfolio.
