Job summary

The Paul Scherrer Institute (PSI) in Villigen, Switzerland, invites applications for a Project Assistant – Scientific Documentation and Laboratory Administration (60-80%) in the Laboratory for Waste Management.

The role supports administrative laboratory processes, onboarding, and the coordination of comprehensive scientific and technical reports, with a focus on quality management and stakeholder communications.

Qualifications

• Excellent proficiency in MS Office tools and related software applications.
• Experience with modern AI-based productivity tools.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• A proactive, reliable, and service-oriented approach, with good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Enjoyment of working in an international and multidisciplinary scientific environment.
• Very good command of English and German, both written and spoken.
• An educational background or professional experience in a scientific or technical field is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Close interaction with scientists, students and technical staff.
• Support for administrative laboratory processes and onboarding for new group members and laboratory visits from external guests.
• Coordination of the preparation, formatting, and publication of comprehensive scientific and technical reports as well as contact point for stakeholders.
• Support for and management of documents in the Quality Management system and web content.
• Coordination and documentation of laboratory meetings and management of events.
