Zusammenfassung

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is seeking a mobile interpreter/translator to facilitate confidential interviews between detainees, authorities and ICRC staff. You will translate written materials from Russian to English and support protection activities in challenging environments.

The role requires fluency in English and Russian, plus strong Ukrainian or other ICRC languages as assets, and 2 years of relevant experience in humanitarian settings.

Qualifikationen

• Excellent command of English and Russian required.
• Knowledge of Ukrainian is a strong asset.
• Proficiency in other ICRC operational languages is an asset.
• 2 years of professional interpreter/translator experience preferred.
• Able to work under pressure in potentially dangerous environments.

Aufgaben

• Oral interpretation from Russian to English and vice versa during confidential interviews.
• Written translation of Russian materials into English.
• Analyze conditions of detention and security matters related to ICRC mandate.
• Provide support on other protection activities as needed.
