Job summary

Sunflower Labs GmbH seeks a robotics diagnostics engineer to investigate complex system issues in our autonomous drone-in-a-box platform. You will combine logs, code analysis and hands-on bench experiments to distill field reports into clear explanations and actionable fix recommendations.

The role bridges support and engineering, requiring strong communication and a proactive, ownership-driven approach to reproduce failures and validate mitigations. On-site in Zurich is required.

Qualifications

• Experience investigating complex software failures using logs, source code and systematic root-cause analysis.
• A practical approach to reproducing intermittent issues and designing experiments on engineering systems, bench setups or simulators.
• Clear written and verbal communication to explain evidence, uncertainty, safety and availability impact and next steps.

Responsibilities

• Own investigations into system issues from bug reports through actionable findings with support to capture symptoms, conditions and logs.
• Analyze logs and source code, form hypotheses, reproduce and isolate failures through tests on engineering systems and bench setups.
• Assess issue severity with engineering considering safety impact, availability, affected versions and conditions.
• Provide engineering with evidence, reproduction steps and recommendations for fixes, and verify changes address root causes.
• Recommend and validate workarounds and mitigations, and guide their use, limitations and operational implications.
