Job summary

Jobgether SRL in Switzerland seeks a Product Engineering Lead for a global peer-to-peer messaging and video-calling product. You will lead API and frontend engineering teams, translate product strategy into reliable features, and own technical decisions.

This leadership role combines mentoring, architecture, and hands-on coding when needed, with emphasis on local-first, privacy, speed, and scale, reporting to the CTO and shaping how solutions are built in a fully remote environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing software engineers or engineering leads delivering consumer-facing products.
• Strong product sense and ability to distinguish high-value opportunities from complexity.
• Deep proficiency in JavaScript and React for frontend decisions.
• Strong understanding of distributed and local-first systems (offline-first, eventual consistency).
• Collaborate with product leaders to shape strategy and roadmaps.
• Proactive technical leadership with ability to set standards and guide architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead the API and frontend engineering teams, removing blockers and maintaining delivery momentum.
• Define technical approaches and maintain high engineering standards (performance, reliability, maintainability, API design).
• Own the technical design of product features and API boundaries between core and frontend.
• Collaborate with product managers to translate vision into scoped initiatives.
• Mentor engineering leads and foster cross-team collaboration and processes.
• Contribute technically when needed while empowering teams to take ownership.
