IOTA GROUP is seeking a Railway Commissioning Engineer or Technician to support commissioning and technical activities for railway equipment. The role is highly field-oriented with regular international travel and may involve assignments in different countries depending on project needs.

You will diagnose and troubleshoot complex machinery, work with electrotechnics, automation, hydraulics and diesel engines, and provide user support.

Qualifikationen

Job Description

As part of the development of commissioning and technical support activities for railway equipment, we are looking for a Railway Commissioning Engineer or Technician with proven experience in the railway industry.

The position is strongly field-oriented and involves regular international travel.

Main responsibilities

• Perform commissioning, testing and adjustment of railway machines at customer sites.
• Diagnose technical issues and carry out troubleshooting and repair activities.
• Work on multidisciplinary systems including electrotechnics, automation, hydraulics, pneumatics and diesel engines.
• Check the proper operation of sensors, measurement systems and onboard digital equipment.
• Provide technical support to users and local teams.
• Prepare intervention reports and **escalate** technical issues to engineering teams.

An initial training period on the machines will be provided before the first international assignments.

Qualifications

Technical Requirements

• Higher technical education in electrotechnics, automation, mechatronics, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
• Previous experience in the railway industry is required.
• Proven experience in commissioning, maintenance, field service, or troubleshooting of complex machinery.
• Strong technical knowledge of:
  • Electrotechnics
  • Automation and sensors
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Diesel engines
• Knowledge of measurement systems, LiDAR, or digital technologies applied to railway equipment would be an advantage.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in the field.

Languages & Mobility

• Professional English is required.
• Knowledge of French, German, Italian, or another additional language would be an advantage.
• High international mobility is required.
• The position may be based in different countries depending on project requirements.
