Zusammenfassung

The UK Mission in Geneva is seeking a temporary Chef & Residence Manager to ensure the Ambassador’s Residence runs smoothly for an expected three months. You will plan menus, prepare high-quality food, support official events and maintain records and stock.

Responsibilities include overseeing kitchen operations, budgeting for events, liaising with staff, and ensuring hygiene and safety standards, with occasional work outside normal hours.

Qualifikationen

• At least two years' experience as a chef or cook in a professional hospitality, catering, residence or events environment.
• Good working proficiency in French, written and spoken, minimum B2 level.
• Experience planning menus and preparing high-quality food in line with event requirements and dietary needs.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and allergen management.
• Strong organisational and time management skills under pressure.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in service, presentation and cleanliness.
• Confident, discreet and trustworthy, able to work without close supervision.
• Ability to work well in a small team and support colleagues.
• Willingness to work additional hours for events, including evenings/weekends.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Aufgaben

• Devise menus and cater for all official events at the Ambassador’s Residence and the Mission, within budget.
• Interpret event requirements, guest preferences and dietary needs for high-quality menus.
• Organise procurement of food and drink from local suppliers with seasonal planning.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and proper storage of equipment and leftovers.
• Ensure food hygiene, health & safety and sanitation standards.
• Keep accounts/receipts for official expenditure and liaise with staff for events.
• Occasionally prepare meals for the Ambassador's family and manage personal spend records.
