Job summary

LimmaTech Biologics AG in Schlieren near Zürich is seeking a Preclinical Bioassay Scientist (80-100%) to advance vaccine development through rigorous immunological and cell-based assays. You will design, optimize and qualify assays, generate robust preclinical data, and collaborate with internal and external teams.

You will analyze data, prepare technical reports, and support regulatory activities while maintaining meticulous documentation in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in immunology, biology, microbiology, cell biology, or related life sciences.
• 3-5 years of relevant preclinical research experience in assay development and troubleshooting.
• Expertise in immunological and cellular techniques including ELISA, MSD, flow cytometry, intracellular cytokine staining, multiplex immunoassays, and cell-based vaccine characterization.
• Experience with microscopy-based methods and imaging platforms such as Cytation systems or comparable high-content imaging technologies.
• Strong background in experimental design, data analysis and statistical interpretation, including GraphPad Prism and FlowJo.
• Knowledge of bacterial vaccine development and immunology is highly desirable.
• Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and robust documentation practices.
• Strong verbal and written English communication and MS 365 Excel proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, qualify and troubleshoot immunological and cell-based assays to support vaccine development, including ELISA, MSD, flow cytometry and neutralization assays.
• Generate high-quality preclinical data using flow cytometry, microscopy, Cytation imaging and multiplex immunoassays.
• Ensure assay robustness by establishing controls, acceptance criteria and qualification strategies.
• Analyze, interpret, visualize and report experimental data to support candidate selection and development decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external labs to transfer and qualify assays and oversee study execution.
• Prepare protocols, reports and presentations for research, development and regulatory activities.
