Bank J. Safra Sarasin AG in Zurich seeks a Portfolio Manager/Analyst for Thematic Equities focused on Industrials, Energy, Utilities, Mining. You identify high conviction stock ideas, perform commodity research, and contribute to portfolio and risk management.

You will develop analytical tools, publish thematic research, and present to the team and clients. Suitable candidates have 5-7 years of equity experience, Bloomberg proficiency, and fluent English.

Qualifications

5-7 years of practical experience in equity analysis covering sectors: Industrials, Utilities, Energy, Mining
Experience as Portfolio Manager / Analyst in Asset Management or as a sell-side equity analyst is required
Fluency in English is required

Responsibilities

Analyse and select stocks in Industrials, Energy, Utilities, Mining and adjacent cyclical sectors for a concentrated portfolio of high conviction ideas
Conduct market analysis in the above sectors and integrate in equity views
Discuss and present your investment cases to the equities team
Co-manage a global thematic investment portfolio and contribute to idea generation across other investment funds
Perform reporting and administrative tasks across investment strategies in an efficient and effective way
Present to internal and external clients and drive effective investment strategy communication
Develop analytical tools and improve existing processes

Portfolio Manager / Analyst - Thematic Equities

AsPortfolio Manager / Analyst - Thematic Equities at Bank J. Safra Sarasin you arefocused on the Industrials, Energy, Utilities, Mining and adjacent sectors and responsible for identifying high conviction stock ideas, conducting commodity market research, conducting portfolio management and risk management activities, creating thematic research publications, as well as developing analytical tools for the broader Thematic Equities team.

Your Responsibilities

Analyse and select stocks in the Industrials, Energy, Utilities, Mining and adjacent cyclical sectors for a concentrated portfolio of high conviction ideas
Conduct market analysis in the above sectors and integrate in equity views
Discuss and present your investment cases to the equities team
Co-manage a global thematic investment portfolio and contribute to idea generation across other investment funds
Perform reporting and administrative tasks across investment strategies in an efficient and effective way
Present to internal and external clients and drive effective investment strategy communication
Develop analytical tools and improve existing processes

Your Profile

University degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, etc., with 5-7 years of practical experience in equity analysis covering at least one of the following sectors:Industrials, Utilities, Energy, Mining
Experience as aPortfolio Manager / Analyst in an Asset Management environment or as a sell-side equity analyst is required. Industry specific knowledge is an advantage
Excellent Microsoft Office skills and proven experience with Bloomberg. Quantitative analysis experience, knowledge of AI tools, and programming skills will be considered as a plus
Excellent communication and presentation skills combined with the ability to work with various stakeholders
A hands-on mentality with the capability to work independently
Demonstrates strong work ethics, integrity and high level of accountability
Fluency in English is required
