Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Switzerland is seeking a Continuous Improvement Manager to drive operational excellence on the shop floor. You will partner with factory and operations leaders to identify opportunities, remove bottlenecks, and implement Lean Six Sigma initiatives across the value chain.

You will coach teams, lead transformational projects, and shape a culture of continuous improvement across our manufacturing operations, with hands-on Gemba engagement and regular travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, operations management, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Continuous Improvement or Operational Excellence in manufacturing; factory experience mandatory.
• Green Belt required, Black Belt preferred in Lean Six Sigma.
• Proven experience leading Kaizen events and Gemba activities.
• Strong communication, training, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted Continuous Improvement advisor for Factory and Operations leadership; drive data-driven analyses and optimization initiatives.
• Identify bottlenecks across the value chain, remove constraints, and improve flow.
• Maintain a strong shop-floor presence with regular Gemba activities and coaching.
• Lead Kaizen events and Rapid Improvement Workshops to deliver fast, sustainable results.
• Coach employees in Lean Six Sigma methods and support certification programs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to map and redesign end-to-end processes.
• Lead deployment of Lean principles, standardisation, and benchmarking across sites.
• Monitor KPIs and ensure sustainable implementation of improvements.
