Zusammenfassung

CERN IT invites applications to join the OpenStack-based cloud team, helping run and evolve CERN's cloud infrastructure that underpins CERN and LHC experiments. You will work on compute, storage, networking, and automation, collaborating with OpenStack communities and diverse user groups to deliver scalable services and tooling.

Applicants should have Linux server experience, Python scripting skills, and familiarity with cloud platforms or distributed systems.

Qualifikationen

• Experience administering Linux systems in server/data-centre environments.
• Experience writing Python scripts or applications for automation.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, virtualization, or distributed systems is a plus.
• Experience with configuration management tools (Puppet or Ansible) is a plus.
• Experience with container technologies, CI/CD systems, or software-defined networking is a plus.
• Contributions to open-source projects or upstream communities are a plus.

Aufgaben

• Run and evolve CERN IT's OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure.
• Operate and develop cloud services including compute, storage, networking, and related components.
• Develop and maintain automation and tooling using Python and configuration management systems.
• Collaborate with IT teams and user communities to design and integrate new capabilities.
• Contribute bug fixes and upstream improvements leveraging CERN's OpenStack ties.
• Troubleshoot and optimize large-scale distributed systems for reliability and performance.
• Enhance service automation to improve scalability and manageability.
