Zusammenfassung

CERN IT invites applications for a role focused on managing large-scale infrastructure and bare metal provisioning. You will work at the intersection of systems engineering and software development, contributing to the OpenStack-based cloud spanning CERN and LHC services.

You will engage with senior engineers and the upstream OpenStack community, gaining hands-on experience with bare metal provisioning, BMC protocols, and Python development in a large-scale production setting.

Qualifikationen

• Experience administering Linux in server/data-centre environments.
• Experience writing Python scripts or applications for automation.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (Puppet or Ansible) is a plus.
• Experience with bare metal server management and BMC protocols is a plus.

Aufgaben

• Run and evolve CERN IT's OpenStack-based cloud infrastructure.
• Maintain bare metal life-cycle management framework on OpenStack Ironic.
• Integrate new server deliveries and provision nodes to user communities.
• Collaborate on automation and tooling improvements using Python.
