Nestlé Orbe is seeking an experienced R&D Specialist for System Science to build scientific foundations that explain and optimize beverage and packaging system performance. You will collaborate with system performance experts, product developers and engineers across Nestlé locations worldwide to drive innovation at scale.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of physical chemistry, applied physics, mechanical engineering or a related scientific field.
• Ability to apply predictive modelling to explain system behaviour and test design choices.
• Expertise in transport phenomena, fluid systems, experimentation and packaging to solve complex system challenges.
• Connect fundamental science with system design questions and communicate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Fluent in English and able to translate complex scientific concepts into clear messages.

Responsabilités

• Formulating hypotheses that connect product, machine and packaging design choices with beverage performance.
• Designing experiments that reveal flow, pressure, mass transfer, extraction and foam generation mechanisms.
• Building predictive, physics-based models that explain system behaviour and guide technical decisions.
• Identifying performance drivers, variability and knowledge gaps to improve system robustness and optimization.
• Creating reusable scientific knowledge that accelerates future research, product development and system innovation.
• Translating scientific findings into clear recommendations for technical integration, validation and performance improvement.
