Pentagon Technical Services is building a senior team in Zurich to lead delivery of a major data centre project. The OFCI Manager will own commissioning and integration strategy across electrical, mechanical and BMS systems, ensuring safe testing and successful handover.

This senior role requires coordinating with clients, PMC, contractors and stakeholders, overseeing IST, test scripts, QAs and documentation, and driving readiness across multiple disciplines to achieve operational readiness.

Pentagon Technical Services has secured a major PMC assignment for a large-scale data centre project in Zurich, and we are now building the senior project team that will lead delivery.

We are looking for an experienced OFCI Manager to take ownership of the commissioning and integration strategy across a complex, mission-critical data centre environment.

This is a senior position working closely with the client, PMC, contractors, commissioning teams and key stakeholders to ensure the facility is safely and successfully commissioned, integrated and handed over.

The Role

As OFCI Manager, you will provide leadership and oversight of the overall commissioning and integration process, ensuring systems are delivered, tested and integrated in accordance with the project requirements and programme.

You will be responsible for coordinating commissioning activities across multiple disciplines and ensuring all systems progress from installation through testing, integrated systems testing and final handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the OFCI strategy and commissioning programme for the data centre.
• Provide senior oversight of commissioning activities across electrical, mechanical and controls/BMS systems.
• Coordinate with the client, PMC, construction teams, specialist contractors, vendors and commissioning authorities.
• Review and manage commissioning plans, procedures, schedules and documentation.
• Ensure systems are progressively commissioned in line with project milestones.
• Oversee pre-functional testing, functional testing, IST and integrated testing.
• Coordinate interfaces between individual systems and ensure successful system integration.
• Identify commissioning risks, constraints and programme impacts and drive appropriate mitigation.
• Review commissioning documentation, test scripts, method statements and quality records.
• Manage commissioning readiness and ensure systems are fully prepared before testing.
• Monitor progress against the commissioning programme and provide regular reporting to project leadership.
• Support resolution of technical issues, defects and commissioning failures.
• Ensure commissioning activities comply with project specifications, safety requirements and applicable standards.
• Drive the completion of commissioning documentation, punch lists and final handover requirements.
• Provide leadership and direction to commissioning engineers and specialist teams.
• Work closely with the client and project leadership team to ensure operational readiness and successful project completion.

About You

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience in data centre commissioning, ideally on hyperscale or large-scale facilities.
• Previous experience as an OFCI Manager, Commissioning Manager, Cx Manager, Senior Commissioning Manager or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical building services within a mission-critical environment.
• Experience managing integrated systems testing (IST) and complex system interfaces.
• Strong knowledge of commissioning processes from design/construction through to operational handover.
• Experience working within a PMC/client-side environment is highly advantageous.
• Proven ability to manage multiple contractors, vendors and commissioning stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of commissioning documentation, testing procedures and quality requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to lead teams and operate effectively in a high-pressure project environment.
• Experience working on large-scale international data centre projects.
